Reporter vs Expert – Why Most Bloggers Are Stuck Reporting

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report).

If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I’ll be frank; you want to be the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc… experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.

Most Bloggers Are Reporters

The thing with expertise is that it requires something – experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it’s a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts – there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don’t Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a “guru” (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry – the Internet marketing industry – not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it’s next to impossible to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it’s fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche – Internet marketing – and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things – email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It’s a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let’s face it – making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) – your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others

The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people’s work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It’s okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it’s fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion – your stories – and don’t regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people don’t do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert

Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don’t leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.

Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone

If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from “scratch”, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

10 Blog Traffic Tips

In every bloggers life comes a special day – the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else’’s blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader – you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that’’s about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.

Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers. These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.

Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major “pillar” articles. A pillar article is a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good “how-to” lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn’t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don”t have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need a easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that’’s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you’ve done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people’s blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger’’s article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry – it’’s sort of like your blog telling someone else’s blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important – it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will likely come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival often enjoy a spike in new readers.

To find the right blog carnival for your blog, do a search at blogcarnival.com.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it’’s so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it’’s worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn’t bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it’’s worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have – your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your “Resource Box”. You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I’ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won’t stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

I hope you enjoyed my list of traffic tips. Everything listed above are techniques I’ve put into place myself for my blogs and have worked for me, however it’’s certainly not a comprehensive list. There are many more things you can do. Finding readers is all about testing to see what works best for you and your audience and I have no doubt if you put your mind to it you will find a balance that works for you.

Yaro starts by explaining each concept he uses one by one in a clear and ordered manner. This is essential, as you can stop in the middle, try to implement something, and go back and continue from that point.

The first thing to note is, it is all well written and drawn from experience. I couldn’t say that about the majority of ebooks I have bought and paid for so this is an especially good and rare thing about a free ebook.

Without traffic, your online business will just be a fruitless effort. In BLOG PROFIT BLUEPRINT, Yaro explains how you can attract traffic to your blog thereby increasing your profits. On His blog he has over 40,000 readers subscribed to his blog and its still going stronger. Yaro goes through all you need to know to make money from your blog. Not just the mechanics of monetization but also things like how to choose a blog topic. What I really like about Blog Profit Blueprint is the simplicity behind the whole book, the advice is clear, concise and there was almost no marketing bullshit, I had to avoid. Also, you will find some links to videos of yaro explaining what he does best (Blogging). I would choose Yaro anytime to teach me more about money-making blogging.

Yaro guides you all the way making sure you don’t loose your way, providing you with a resource page, complete with urls, links, banners and even promotional blog posts! GetResponse Auto responder

In today’s fast paced business world, communication and instant response is the heart of any business wanting to climb up the success ladder. Many business collapses due to the lack of the right technology put in place and over the years, software developers have gone into their closets to develop software’s that not only act as a sales person but also help you grow your business.

Just a quick introduction to what autoresponders are. Autoresponders are systems that give an instant response to a visitor to your business on the internet when they fill out a form. Smart autoresponders are like automated salespeople working for your business, in the background, around the clock, with you being present or absent. Internet marketing and online business people agree that email autoresponders are the greatest marketing tool ever invented. Why? Because it gives people instant access to the information they need without delay. Autoresponders go further than just a one-time response, because they allow you to correspond with personalized follow-up messages after the initial reply and also build a customer list.

How do you intend to build your customer list and through it increase your revenue and profit at the same time? Simon Grabrowski CEO of GetResponse gave a solution to this by developing what I believe is the holy grail of an internet business.

Why Did I Choose GetResponse

I personally struggled in deciding what autoresponder to use for my business as there are many out there with different features. I did lots of comparison and contractions and at the end of the day; I decided to go for GetResponse, which in my opinion has all the features that I need for my business. I knew if I didn’t have a professional, personalized, systematic and timely follow-up approach that hits my prospects with my messages at least four to eight times, I’m losing money! Following up can increase your sales significantly by 80% and as much as 400% or even more! If in the future I decide to sell my business, the buyer will cash in on my asset (the massive list of customers that I have built).

I also looked at the pricing. Unlike other autoresponders where the pricing is in relation to the amount of customers you have, with getresponse you have the option of

The last thing I considered was Getresponses email deliverability. Getresponse has had good reviews regarding the promptness of email deliverability, which means Getresponse is doing a pretty good job in building and marketing your business to your customers. This fact alone is enough of a reason to convince you to choose GetResponse.

The importance of email for your business.

Email is an important aspect of marketing online. But a single email is NEVER enough and in fact can be more costly down the road. Here’s why…

Like standard advertising, it takes repetition in order to get people to first absorb the message, understand it and then ultimately take action.

Naturally, some people will immediately respond while others need to see the message more than once before they even think about responding.

The reason is that each individual has a specific buying behavior. For example, the marketplace is divided into several, graduated segments that are based on such behaviors. They are:

  1. Innovators (2.5%),
  2. Early adopters (13.5%),
  3. Early majority (34%),
  4. Late majority (34%)
  5. And laggards (16%).

Innovators are risk-takers and venturesome. They usually respond to new offers immediately and quickly, without giving them much thought.

Early adopters are impulsive, too, and respond to new ideas early taking action soon after the innovators do, but a little more carefully.

The bulk of the market consist of the “middle majority” (68%), consisting of the early and late majorities. It’s the biggest “piece of the pie.”

The first half, or early majority, typically respond to new ideas fairly quickly but are a little more cautious and conservative than early adopters.

The late majority, however, are more skeptical, careful and slow. They take their time, usually shop around and need to see offers more than a few times before giving them any consideration.

The final segments, laggards, are the slowest to respond. They take action only after time has elapsed, usually once everyone else has done so.

Ultimately, the important thing to note here is that a marketer’s goal is to effectively reach, persuade and incite the largest segment…

The middle majority (68% of your market).

But doing so is difficult to do with a mere, single mailing. Repeating your marketing message more than once is essential with this group.

Email marketing is much like blacksmithing. To mold the metal, you must hit the iron:

1) while it’s hot,

 2) in the right way and,

 3) many times.

Similarly, since the bulk of most sales occur in the follow-up process, you need to follow up in a timely, consistent and compelling manner.

SEO trick for Google Ranking

Ever wonder why your website never makes it to the top 10 on Google? Or are you baffled why your competitors are cashing in on BIG checks from the same products you sell online? All you need might just be to make some necessary but vital tweaks to optimize your website. It’s that simple and you could be ahead of your competitors in just a few hours.

Here are the techniques you need for Google to rank your website amongst the top 10 for your specific niche.

Page Title; the title your website bears is probably the most important aspect to get right for your website optimization. This is because Google uses the page title as a link and a navigation aid for browser users. You may also deploy your top keyword phrases that bring traffic in your page title. It is however necessary to consider your title length because search engines like Google and other browsers truncate long titles to make their display consistent.

I would ideally recommend that you keep the characters of you page title (including spaces) around 64 characters. Your page title should considerably begin with your business name and the keywords used should likewise be repeated in your URL.

Head Tag; in the order of optimization priority, this comes next after your page title. This can be recognised in your HTML as <h1>Head Text</h1>. Note, however that since HTML supports up to six Head Tags on one page, you can use more than one but I’ll suggest you don’t use more than two because each tag downwards carry less SEO weighing than the one above.

Meta Keyword; this provides information to search engines (Google) about the contents of your page. Always remember that the basic ingredients for SEO on your websites are your keywords and key phrases. In your key phrases, separate each keyword phrase with a comma and no space (i.e. make money online, making money online). Pluralize phrases where possible and always use lower case for all your keyword. Limit yourself to 35 words in your meta-keyword and don’t exceed 50 at most.

Body Text; for the purpose of keyword density, make sure at least your keyword appears between 3-5 times for every 100 words in the content of your page. If more than this, your site could be considered as spam and you would be severely penalized. Include not more than 450-600 words in total on each page and use bold to pick out keyword on your page. This allows search engines to identify your key text.

Blogs are a great way of getting your message across to your audience on the internet. Many businesses have turned their hands into blogging with some success. Blogs are fast becoming the preferred destination when shopping for a new product or service. Over 5% of fortune 500 companies have blogs, news medias, small sized businesses and individuals.

From an SEO stand point, blogs are the easiest sites to get indexed and get top ranking by search engines. Search engines like Google love it as they are refreshed frequently and contain keyword rich content that tends to be naturally optimized for search.

If you aren’t blogging right now, you definitely are behind. You have a unique opportunity of stepping ahead of your competitors with blogs. You can get many blogs out there on the internet even using the power of social networking sites (such as myspace. facebook and youtube) to start your business. There are a number of different blogging platforms but wordpress is the most popular with business bloggers for the wide number of features it offers. You would need a domain name to start with which can be purchased from places like godaddy.com, but bear in mind that it is advisable to use domain names with specific keyword or keyword phrases to your niche market. There are many keyword tools on the internet, some free and some would require you to buy, but the need is for you to go after keyword phrases being searched a lot on the internet.

Unlike traditional websites whose content management system is sophisticated and way too technical, blogs content management on the other hand is well simplified and the contents are listed in chronological order with the newest article at the top followed by the most recent and so on. Traditional websites most times never change and when visited, you may keep being directed to the same page. This is as a result of its static nature.

RSS-Why use It ?

How do you keep up with loads of information moving back and forth on the internet when even Technorati says there are over 50 million blogs on the internet? There hasn’t been a much easier way than the RSS.

Unlike the old way where you have to painstakingly look through websites, blogs and news sites to sieve out the information you so much crave for, RSS or Real Simple Syndication makes it easy. Precious time is wasted when sifting through the overload of information if you move from blog to blog and you may not be lucky to get the information you need.

RSS operates in two ways. You are either a producer or a consumer. If you have a blog and an RSS feed created by the blog platform, you are a producer whose blog content may be subscribed to by your users. If you use a feed reader such as Google reader to keep abreast of new contents on your favourite blogs, that makes you a consumer.

Getting started with RSS is pretty much easy. There are two steps to follow,

-You need a website called a reader where you can use to read new post. No money is involved because it is free. All you need do is sign up for an account. Various readers are available online which include Google reader, bloglines.com, newsgator.com and my yahoo.

- Next up is to set up a connection by subscribing between your reader and your favourite blogs or news sites.

RSS has gone mainstream and many web companies are making subscription feeds available for almost any content. Chances are if you are reading an article from a blog or website, you can subscribe to a feed that distributes those articles by looking for the orange RSS symbol and clicking it. Copy and paste the link into a feed reader where it says Add Subscription. Every time you log unto your feed reader, you would be notified if your favourite blogs or websites have new contents.

I highly recommend you get familiar with this piece of technology because it is designed to make life on the internet easier.

Enough said, check out this video;.

A to Z before Affiliate Marketing

Are you tired of working 9-5 shifts? Or are you looking for revenue that isn’t affected by the state of the economy? Then affiliate marketing could be the right business for you. Affiliate marketers don’t need to don’t need to make or stock products because they sell other peoples products. The system from start to finish is simplified. You don’t take payments, you don’t need a website, you don’t need a sales page either and above all, you don’t need to see your customers. What do you do as an affiliate marketer? Just send traffic to a chosen affiliate program of your choice and you get paid a commission on every product you sell.

You spark an interest in a product, make people want to click the link to the affiliate program’s sales page you are promoting. Once there is a purchase, you get paid commission for that sale. Needless to say, there are some things you need to know before you venture into affiliate marketing. Most people fail at affiliate marketing or internet marketing because they do not take the time to learn the basics. They put up a site with little or no content, bunches of banners and unrelated products, little or no marketing at all and then expect the search engine to drive the traffic. Yes the search engine will drive traffic if you do your part.

First you need some good content and only one or two related affiliate products to start with. Then make a good professional page and market properly. You need to learn a little first. Using banners is not a bad idea but ensure they are used sparingly if you don’t want your website to look less professional. After you have recorded success in your first trial, then you may add more affiliate programs to increase your revenue.

Try starting out with something that interests you (fitness, making money online etc), research products in the niche of your choice and then go ahead to market. Bear in mind that you can also market products you are not passionate about but it might end up costing you more because you may have to outsource. Starting out with products related to your passions will give you leverage into other products you know nothing about.

On your website, review the product you are promoting. Make sure your website doesn’t look like a sales page as you don’t want your potential customers to think you are only selling to them and don’t have any information beneficial to them. The most important thing on your website should be a section where you can capture the names and emails of your visitors. This is key to the longetivity of your success. By using an autoresponder, you can build a list of customers that you can repeatedly send mails to detailing a product you are promoting with your affiliate link. Create a resource like a free report, white paper, short e-course or a “How-to” article to be preloaded into your autoresponder so that when a visitor clicks on it, you are able to capture their details and they become your subscriber.

Be careful not to bombard your subscribers with too many mails as they will unsubscribe but ensure your mails are related to products that will be of help.

3 Easy steps to make money during recession

There are millions of opportunities on the internet and anyone can make money if they spend sometime on market research. Market research is the foundation for success on the internet. If you fail to carry out a proper market research, you may be throwing money down the drain. Since the inception of the internet, thousands and millions of people have become millionaires in short period of time. Take for instance, the creator of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. For those of you who don’t know facebook, it is a social networking site where you can get in touch with friends and make new ones. Founded only 4 years ago, it became an instant household phenomenon making Mark one the youngest billionaire of our time also serving as a platform for business owners to market their products and services to the world at large.

Success on the internet can be achieved if you tread on the right direction and are determined. It’s about creating value and promoting or communicating that value to the people in the market place {Internet}. Millions of people worldwide use the internet daily looking to solve an imminent problem they have. What if you have a product or service that you can target to a fraction of this people? Wouldn’t that transform your life and those around you? I bet you will live in a house of your choice and not the one you can afford, drive around in the cars you admire in magazines and may decide to go on a trip around the world. The beauty of this business is that you can access it anywhere in the world as long as you have a computer and connection to the internet.

So what do I do to achieve this? The absolute worst thing that you can do is do nothing and subject yourself to a lifetime of fulfilling someone else’s dream by working for them. The steps are simple and easy to follow.

Follow me on these simple money making steps;

-         Find a product. It doesn’t have to be physical. It might as well be digital. All you need do is look for an underserved niche. On the internet lie many different niche hunting strategies at your finger tips and you will find that every trip to the computer would be an exciting and eventful habit for you.

-         Brand your Product. You could become an author or inventor of a product that could dominate the internet and have sole exclusivity. You can also get a resale right from an author of a fast selling product on the internet and make it your own. Knowing your products and how to effectively promote them will pay you in spades.

-         Market you products. This is your ticket to acquiring wealth. There are various ways of doing this. You may decide to build a website, a mini-site or a blog, it doesn’t matter which one you choose. All you are after is the traffic of hungry customers that need your product. However bear in mind that the aesthetics of your website will add value to your promotion. Knowing how to get customers to your website through a variety of methods and doing it as cost effective as possible will accelerate your success.

Earn a constant paycheck from an untapped Affiliate Market.

As I write this article, many people are on their phones chatting with their accounts officer requesting for a loan in order to have a swell time this Christmas just 3 months away. They will end up biting more than they can chew and afterwards, the next 10 months or perhaps forever will be used to pay back the loan.

Why not be a lender and earn big bucks with affiliate marketing rather than being a borrower and pay back your debts through a 9-5 ritual. Christmas is knocking on your door wanting to come in with massive opportunities that have massive profit potential and will leave you massive money to spend this Christmas. Many businesses wait for this period of the year to break-even. You can sell almost anything online ranging from digital products to physical products and make profit. Knowing exactly what people buy the most online will give you headway. There are many ways this can be done online and you won’t believe it’s absolutely free. Ebay seller central is one of them and also Google Trends is another one.

On Ebay seller central, go to the holiday hot list and you’ll find a list of the top 25 sellers for the holiday season. Refine the products description to fit the time of the year. Try to categories the products to fit your target audience. Things like “gifts for husbands, wives, friends, partners, dad, mum, brothers and sisters” should be used because the time of season is Christmas and people will be shopping for families. This will narrow your target to a specific niche. Offer to your customers a free service of gift boxes and wrapping their gifts, you may also offer to send the gift to their recipients. Let your customers know how appreciative you are doing business with them by sending a thank you card. Doing this will guarantee you a repeat customer. One thing you must be consistent in is your delivery dates. You must never fail to deliver on time. If you want repeat customers, this is an area you must not be lacking. Satisfied customers will tell their friends of your services prompting them to buy from you. Watch out for the lapses of your competitors. If they do not offer free shipping or gifts for each purchase, use that to your advantage by offering to do this to your potential customers. This will boost your sales. Ensure all your shipments are baked up with a tracking number, so that in case something goes wrong with the shipment, it can be tracked and rectified on time.

On Google Trends, you will find a list of up to 100 trends that are being searched for on Google worldwide which is updated every few minutes. You can take advantage of this and leverage the hype and milk them for all they are worth. Due to the season’s mood, there will be an influx of people searching for anything around “turkey”. Why not create a squeeze page and include all the information you know about buying the right turkey and how to cook it in a guide and then sell it.

Take advantage of these great opportunities. Don’t just rely on a single product, sell different products. Be efficient in your delivery and always remember to be nice to your customers.
